CLUB HARIE is the Western confectionery brand of the "Taneya" group in Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture, founded in 1951. Its most celebrated creation is its signature baumkuchen.

In Japan, CLUB HARIE's baumkuchen is exceptionally well known and has long been regarded as the definitive baumkuchen; queues regularly form at its department store counters, and it is recognised nationwide as a premium souvenir and gift.

Each baumkuchen is baked by hand, one at a time, by skilled artisans who pour the batter layer upon layer onto a turning spit and bake it slowly. The outside is light and soft, the inside moist and fine-textured, with a rich aroma of egg and butter that is never cloying, melting in the mouth.
